Buying our Home

Welcome to Brea

This year my wife and I made one simple goal: Buy a Home. Last year, we paid off all of our credit card debts ($17,000) and pinky-promised that we wouldn’t use any of our cards again. We would simply just save up for what we needed and paid with cash.  After paying off our credit cards, we told ourselves we would save like squirrels and set a goal to buy a house by the end of this year.

These past eight months, I have been working extra days to save up for our home. My wife, AKA Superwife, gave birth to our second daughter in May, started a new full-time job as a nurse manager, and keeps everything in our household organized! She was interviewing for her new job while she was 8 1/2 months pregnant! Hence, the superwife moniker. We have been working hard these past 8 months to make our dream a reality.

So now we are in September…

…AND WE RECEIVED THE KEYS TO OUR HOME!!!!!

Welcome to Brea

The whole escrow process was pretty exhausting, especially the whole waiting, signing and sending documents last minute. It was a good thing my work schedule this week had me off on the actual day we closed escrow because there were a couple documents we had to sign in the 11th hour to process the loan.

In the end, we are super happy with our decision. We found a beautiful home that my wife and I can see ourselves growing old in, it is in a great school district (California Distinguished Schools), and we just love the area! I will be busy these next few days packing, moving, and unpacking. I am hoping I will be able to squeeze in a little run here and there. Good thing I am off the next 6 days to take care of the moving!! I will post some pictures up on my Facebook page.

I will be posting on my homebuying experience soon along with some pics of our new place, but I have to get back to packing! Thanks for stopping by!!

That’s so exciting!!!! I LOVE Brea! My favorite place to eat over there is The Olive Pit, so healthy and delicious! Congratulations, that’s awesome!

I love the Olive Pit! The food is good and fresh there, and not as pricey as you would think!
