I have been nominated for another Liebster Award! Tonya over at Healthy, Fit, and Frugal has nominated me to the award that helps up-and-coming bloggers get to know one another and let their readers know is behind the computer screen. Here is the post on my 1st Liebster nomination from last year. Check it out if you’re not too familiar with the Liebster Award. Thank you to Tonya for the nomination and love!!
These are the 11 questions that I answered for this year’s nomination.
If you could play any professional sport, what would it be and why?
Basketball, without a doubt. I grew up watching the NBA in an era where Magic, Bird, and Jordan dominated the court. My friends and I would mimic their moves: Magic’s no look pass, Bird’s smooth jumpshot, and Jordan’s ability to fly.
What is your favorite form of exercise?
Currently, my favorite form of exercise is running. Working in the Anesthesia, you are placed in very stressful situations everyday. Someone’s life is in your hands, literally. You are mentally processing dozens of critical situations and deciding what the best care is for your patient in every single case. Also, with two little toddlers and one newborn on the way, it is very chaotic at home. But, it is the best chaos and I wouldn’t change it for anything.
With that being said, I find solace in running. It is my “me time” where I am able to reflect and rediscover myself. When I go out for a long run, the only thing I have to worry about is if I can make it back to my car.
If you could win an Oscar, who would you thank?
First off, I would like to thank God for giving me this opportunity and providing guidance throughout this roll. My wife and daughters, thanks for your unconditional love and support, I couldn’t have done this without you guys being there. Lastly, to Ken Jeong, YOU ARE MY IDOL, MUDDAFUKKA!!!!!!!
What is your favorite sport in the Olympics (summer or winter)?
Since the Winter Olympics are currently on, my favorite winter sport is the Halfpipe. I think Shaun White is awesome!
If you could have dinner with one athlete, who would it be and why?
I would have dinner with Magic Johnson. He’s such a great businessman. I just want to pick his brain and learn as much as I can from him.
What was your favorite vacation/place you’ve traveled?
Hawaii is my favorite, so far. There is so much to see and do in the islands that I keep coming back. It is very laid-back and is a great break from the hustle and bustle of the big city. My most recent memory was staying at Disney’s Aulani resort with my family. I can’t wait to take my kids back when they are a little older.
If you could only eat one food the rest of your life, what would it be?
Pizza. The possibilities are endless!
Name the top five values you try to live by?
Were you ever bullied as a kid? What was that experience like for you?
I think everyone experienced being bullied in one form or another. I remember being afraid of this kid in middle school because he was known to beat up kids in gym class. I felt like, oh crap, it’s my turn to get picked on. I tried to avoid him at all costs, but it wasn’t until I faced that bully that he stopped picking on me. Luckily the gym teacher intervened before I got my face pounded in! The lesson I took from that was you have to stand up for yourself because nobody will do it for you.
What would you do with your life if you knew you could not fail?
The question is what would I NOT DO with my life?
What legacy do you want to leave behind after you die? (Hope that wasn’t too morbid of a question.)
I want people to remember me as a man of integrity. My children are going to be my legacy and if my wife and I can raise them to live by the values that we set upon them, and they pass that on to their children, then I will be content with my life.
