Running In The Dark

So I’ve been away from my blog since the spring time. I’ve been bad with keeping up to date with it, but I’m here! Had some major changes in my life these past months, most importantly the birth of my 3rd child, Miles Apollo!20140717-064908-24548906.jpg
So you can only imagine my hectic schedule at home. It’s been affecting my run schedule, but sleep is on top of my priority list with my free time. But also spending time with my wife and my 2 little girls also take up my free time.

That being said, I have to get back on the road and prepare for my Disney Dumbo Dare Challenge at the end of August. The Dare consists of a 10K on Saturday followed by a half marathon the next day. My wife completed the Dumbo Dare last year, while in the 1st trimester of pregnancy, so I have no excuses! I know that I can complete the mileage, but I want to train and get a decent time in both of those races.

It will take a little sacrifice on my part and get back to waking up before dawn to get out and run. We have a treadmill and I can put in some miles on it, but nothing is the same as running on the road. So I’m gonna be getting up at the buttcrack of dawn once again to get out and run!

If you see someone on the side of the road wearing a highlighter yellow tech shirt, please don’t throw beer bottles at me!! Thank you!!

Congrats on the newest member of your family! He’s a handsome little fella, but you already knew that 😉 Good luck on training and those early, dark hours to yourself on the road. Run safe!

May he never have to run from debt! Love his name
    Miles (hope he’s a runner)
Apollo (as in very fast on skates) (and … is not a bad dancer)

You’ve got yourself a beautiful boy!

      Thanks Alan!

His name actually means Soldier of Light, Music and Knowledge.

-Miles means soldier in old Hebrew
-Apollo is the Greek God of light, music, knowledge and healing.

But, yeah, it’s a name play because my wife was actually 13 weeks pregnant with him when she ran the Disneyland Dumbo Dare (10K+half marathon)! So he’s got some ‘miles’ under his belt already!!
