Taking a Quick Poll: How Often Do You Run?

I just want to take a quick poll. Please answer this question by commenting below:


I just want to get a rough idea of where I stand as far as my running and fitness. I am averaging 3-10 miles/week, which is pathetic!! And that is over the course of 2 running days/week! I need to make a better effort to maintain my mileage. It’s just hard to find the time when you work full-time, raising 2 kids under 2 years old, and saving to pay down your debt.

Anyways, I just wanted to rant tonight. I have the BOB Revolution SE Duallie Stroller so I cannot make any excuses because of my kids.

So, How many days and miles do you run? What difficulties do you face to get out and run? How do you deal with your busy schedule and how do you squeeze in your runs?

    Before I got my bike I’d run about 12 miles a week.
    I had to run at night because there was no time in the day.
    I’ll have to pick up on my running again cause I plan on doing a triathlon.

      That’s dedication Kuya! Did you have any safety concerns when you ran at night?
      When do you plan on the triathlon? I hope to one day accomplish that. When I look into getting a roadbike, I’ll be asking you for advice!

    Very hit or miss for me depending on my work schedule. I’m average between 3-10 miles per week!

      I totally get your work schedule! I remember as a nurse, I would work 3-4 12hr shifts and feel super tired when I got home. I didn’t want to do any type of athletic activities. Now as a CRNA, I am not as tired, but my schedule is waaay more demanding. I’ll be working overnight, taking call, 24hr shifts, etc… It’s hard to get into an exercise or training routine when you are in the healthcare field.

      It seems like 3-10 miles per week is the magic number for nurses!! But that doesn’t include how many miles you ‘walk’ when you’re working! I had a pedometer when I worked in the ICU and I would average 5 miles a day!!! That’s a lot of walking!!

    I try to run 70-80 km a week at 5-6 times per week (~44-50 miles) but it depends on the workload and other social activities. If I do not have the time, I try to find time during the lunch or early mornings. One really good thing is also to run to or from work. I have about 12 miles to work and to run to or from work saves a lot of time. If yoy have to long way to go you can always take the bus/train some part and run the rest. Keep on running!

      Thanks for the advice! 70-80km/week is really good! I live 28 miles from work, which is just a little out of my range for daily runs! I will probably plan to wake up earlier and try to get a run in before I get ready for work. Thanks for stopping by!
